Self Harm

Non Suicidal self-harm (self-injury), is the act of deliberately harming your own body, such as cutting or burning yourself. It is a harmful way to cope with deep distress and emotional pain, intense anger and frustration. Self-harm includes anything you do to intentionally injure yourself. Some common ways include severely cutting or scratching your skin, hitting yourself or banging your head, sticking objects into your skin and swallowing harmful substances. Regardless of how you self-harm, injuring yourself is often the only way you know how to cope and express feelings.
